Create a happy place that you want to go and escape from it all.

In every home, there must be a place where YOU can go to find some peace and quiet. A place where you can relax, read a book, watch a movie, write an entry blog or just retreat from the rest of the world. To me that place is the bedroom and you can easily make some changes to turn it into a sanctuary. The room itself has to be appealing to your senses and invoke inner peace and serenity. A well made bed with large and small pillows is an invitation to go lay down. Neutral and earth tones are very relaxing colors and they encourage a touch of serenity much needed after a long day at work. Leave the bright and interesting bold colors for other areas of the house. One thing you must try to do is to keep all the clutter out of your bedroom. Clutter means work that needs to be done and it is a constant reminder that will interrupt your peace. It is so important to stop for a moment and take pleasure in what we have and do. We need to celebrate our happy moments because they can help us fight aggravations and disillusionment in life. Try adding a dash of love, respect and memories to your meals. Those ingredients shouldn’t have to be included in each recipe. They should be understood – like preheating the oven before baking. From what I have learned, Brandy Alexander was the cocktail served in 1922 at the wedding of Princess Mary in London. She was the third child and only daughter of King George V and Queen Mary.
